Tuesday, 31 August 2010 The Australian Baseball Federation (ABF) is now calling for nominations for the next Baseball Australia Diamond Awards.
For the first time this year's round of awards will allow for the opportunity for Club and State coaches, as well as National coaches, to also be recognised through the Club Coach of the Year Award.
Nominations are to be fully completed, then endorsed (as outlined), then submitted to “The Administration Manager, Australian Baseball Federation, PO Box 1028, Mudgeeraba QLD 4213” by 30 September 2010.
PRESIDENT’S AWARD
To be nominated by the President of the ABF, a Director of the ABF, or State / Territory Associations. The President’s Award is presented for outstanding service, achievement and / or assistance at any level, without restriction to time or length of service. The award is made to an individual, a club, an organisation, a company, or a sponsor. The nomination is to be endorsed by the President of the ABF and approved by a simple majority of the Directors of the ABF.
LIFE MEMBERSHIP
To be nominated by any individual, club, State / Territory Association, or affiliated organisation. Life Membership of the ABF is the highest level of honour bestowed by the ABF. The award is presented for outstanding service to the ABF over an extended period of time (minimum of ten years) at national and international levels. The award is made to an individual, with a maximum of one awarded each year. The nomination is to be endorsed by a Director of the ABF, a State / Territory Association, or an affiliated organisation. However, no Director, State / Territory Association, or affiliated organisation can endorse more than one nomination. The winning nomination will be determined and approved by a three-quarter majority of the Directors of the ABF.
VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
To be nominated by an individual, a club, a State / Territory Association, or affiliated organisation. The Volunteer of the Year award is presented for recognition of an individual’s contribution and commitment to Baseball in a volunteer capacity. Nominations must clearly state the context and contribution made by the individual, as well as the positive impact the individual has achieved for an organisation or persons within the sport. The award is made to an individual. The nomination is to be endorsed by the local State / Territory Association. The winning nomination will be determined and approved by a simple majority of the Directors of the ABF.
ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR
To be nominated by a club, or a State / Territory Association. The Administrator of the Year award is presented for outstanding administrative service and achievements at club or State / Territory levels. Nominations must include descriptive text of outstanding service, highlights and achievements. The award is made to an individual. The nomination is to be endorsed by the local State / Territory Association. The winning nomination will be determined and approved by a simple majority of the Directors of the ABF.
CLUB OF THE YEAR
To be nominated by an individual, a club, a State / Territory Association, or an affiliated organisation. The Club of the Year award is presented in recognition of significant achievements in meeting and exceeding the expectations of its members and the greater community. Nominations must clearly state the club’s achievements across areas of governance, performance, participation, community involvement and service to members. To be eligible a club must be active and compliant with the national My Club registration database. The award is made to a club. The nomination is to be endorsed by the local State / Territory Association. The winning nomination will be determined and approved by a simple majority of the Directors of the ABF.
COACH OF THE YEAR
To be nominated by an individual, a club, a State / Territory Association or the national head office of the ABF. The Coach of the Year award is presented in recognition of an individual’s contribution and commitment to the game and participants in a coaching capacity. Nominations must include descriptive text of a coach’s achievements, skills, ongoing self-development, accreditation, behaviour and conduct and can reflect on long-term service in the development of athletes. The award is made to a coach. The nomination is to be endorsed by the local State / Territory Association. The winning nomination will be determined and approved by a simple majority of the Directors of the ABF.
