Call for applications for Victorian Senior Teams Head Coach Positions

The positions are as follows:

• Victorian Provincial Team
• Victorian Under 23 Team
• Victorian Women’s Team - Blue Team
• Victorian Women’s Team - White Team

Purpose

The Head Coaches shall be responsible for the overall coordination and development of the team which develops and maximises the opportunities of our elite athletes to represent Australia.

Requirement

Appointed coaches will be required to coordinate, implement and attend selection trials and training sessions as directed by Baseball Victoria.

Dates

Trials shall commence in November and teams are selected in just before Christmas. Trials and trainings will be held most weekends (Saturday mornings) until the Championships, excepted to be held again in late April (incorporating Easter). Some midweek training may be also required after selection of the teams and possible camps prior to January. Venues and dates for the respective National Championships have yet to be determined by the ABF.

Qualifications and Skills

• Current Level 2 Baseball Accreditation
• Working With Children clearance
• Extensive experience and demonstrated success as a coach at a state or international level
• Demonstrated high level technical knowledge of baseball coaching principles including techniques, coaching trends and national developments
• Well developed liaison, interpersonal, oral and written communication, and people management skills
• Experience in maintaining records to meet organisational requirements
• Competent computer skills for communication and reporting
• Demonstrated ability to effectively contribute to the formulation of high performance program policies.

• Demonstrated success in managing individual differences and group dynamics
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement, observe confidentiality and use discretion and initiative
• Ability to meet competing demands through effective prioritisation in a results oriented environment
• Ability to work irregular and out-of-business hours and the capacity to travel away from home in January for approximately two week
